About Me
I’m Joe, a qualified person-centred counsellor and therapist, working face-to-face in Burgess Hill and supporting clients across Sussex.
My decision to train as a counsellor grew from my own lived experience of navigating mental health struggles and difficult periods in life. There were times when I felt overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Through those experiences, I came to understand how transformative it can be to feel truly heard and accepted without judgement. That understanding now shapes how I work as a counsellor.
I have a real interest in working with people through anxiety and panic disorders, my lived experience of these difficulties and how they can be managed became the cornerstone of my training and continues to be an area I focus on further learning and development.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who values family life deeply. I enjoy spending time with my young son and being present for the everyday moments that matter. I also have a strong interest in sport, something that has always given me structure, resilience and connection.
These parts of my life help ground me and remind me of the importance of balance, wellbeing and authenticity. As a therapist, I aim to offer a calm, human and relatable presence and I believe therapy doesn’t need to feel clinical or intimidating, instead it can simply be a space where you are accepted as you are.
